Lumora
Indie game studios are independent companies that develop games without the support of big publishers, relying instead on self-funding or small-scale investment. With smaller teams, tighter budgets, and a passion for innovation, they have the freedom to experiment with unconventional ideas.

Lumora is a serene, atmospheric puzzle exploration game set in a forgotten world bathed in light and shadow. Players take on the role of a silent traveler guided by mysterious orbs of luminescence, solving environmental puzzles to restore energy to ancient structures. With no dialogue and minimal UI, the game focuses on visual storytelling, ambient soundscapes, and a meditative pacing that encourages thoughtful exploration and discovery.
Our Role:
We conceptualized and developed Lumora as an artistic experiment in environmental storytelling and light-based mechanics. From the earliest sketches, our design philosophy was to create a world that felt peaceful yet mysterious, where light didn’t just illuminate the world—it shaped it. We developed a custom lighting system in Unity that allowed us to make light an active gameplay element, influencing pathways, puzzle logic, and even player movement.
The biggest challenge was achieving visual depth and puzzle complexity while maintaining a minimalist aesthetic. To solve this, we layered ambient effects, shifting light behavior, and particle systems in subtle ways that never overwhelmed the player. Another challenge was building meaningful progression without dialogue or a traditional quest system. We overcame this by designing a narrative through the world itself—using environmental changes, ancient ruins, and symbolic structures to communicate story beats and emotional shifts.
Results:
Lumora was widely appreciated during early demos for its calming tone, elegant visuals, and intuitive mechanics. Players described it as "a quiet journey with a soul," and many highlighted the way the game made them feel reflective and connected to the environment. For our studio, Lumora became a hallmark of our creative range—proving we could deliver not just action-packed experiences, but also peaceful, emotionally resonant ones grounded in design simplicity and artistic intention.
